Chance Encounters
by Annalisa Campbell
Oklahoma City, OK - September 22, 2009 -- Opening & exhibit by Oklahoma artist Annalisa Campbell at the “In Your Eye Studio & Gallery” in the Historic Paseo Arts District. Opening reception is Friday, October 2nd from 6:00pm-10:00pm. “In Your Eye Gallery” will also be hosting Oklahoma musicians Buffalofitz and the Strebel Creek Vineyard and Gift Shop located in Oklahoma City, OK. The show runs thru October 31st.
Meeting the eyes of a stranger, hearing music lilt around the corner, marveling at the colors of the season, listening as birds call to one another, discovering a new poem - Those moments that cause you to pause, perhaps smile, or wonder, or see our universe through fresh eyes. CHANCE ENCOUNTERS that make you stop and give thanks for life.
Annalisa, an Oklahoma mixed-media artist, is eager to share her chance encounters with you. This will be her first “featured artist” show at In Your Eye. Her current work often incorporates digital photography into a variety of surfaces and mixtures. She developed this process after opportunities to travel both inside and out of the USA, wanting a way to express those moments of meeting humanity on the streets of her very interesting world. You will also encounter the sounds of Buffalofitz, Annalisa’s favorite Oklahoma musicians, Friday evening from 7-9pm.
In addition to her personal artwork that has been exhibited in many Oklahoma locations, Annalisa furthers her art by the encouragement of other artists. She serves her art community through the Oklahoma Art Guild, Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, the Piedmont Library and Cultural Events Society, and IAO, and develops art opportunities for young artists. She is the current president of the Oklahoma Art Guild. Her artwork is represented at the “In Your Eye Gallery” on Paseo in Oklahoma City and “Simply Oklahoma” in Guthrie. She shares studio space at Los Milagros Print Studio on 16th and Villa in OKC, where she leads workshops in Lazertran and printmaking techniques.
Buffalofitz

Buffalofitz is a vibrant acoustic band from Oklahoma. A versatile duo featuring the combined energies of Fitz Jennings and Buffalo Rogers, two very different men with a shared love of entertaining, rooted music and storytelling. Their music is an ever-evolving mixture of traditional blues, ballads and gospel songs, combined with surprising originals and impeccably chosen covers. They fit comfortably in any crowd and with any audience, whether playing gospel in a church on Sunday morning, entertaining kids in a library, or cutting through a loud bar crowd.
