How We See It

There will be an opening & exhibit by Oklahoma artist Jeff Gardner at the "In Your Eye Studio & Gallery" in the Historic Paseo Arts District. Opening reception is Friday, May 1st from 6:00pm-10:00pm. In Your Eye Gallery will also be hosting the Parsons Vineyard & Winery located in Oklahoma City, OK. Show runs thru May 31st.

Jeff Gardner, in a series of hand-colored photographs, explores the way we see and imagine the beauty of the everyday.

He starts with photographs of the western Oklahoma landscape, creates gelatin silver prints in black and white, then hand colors the prints using soft pastels. The resulting images highlight the dynamic nature of our surroundings, the beauty that is part of them, and the hope that can come from how we see it.

Jeff is donating a portion of the art sale proceeds throughout the May show to HeartLine, central Oklahoma’s community connection. HeartLine, a local non-profit organization, provides unique services such as the 2-1-1 phone service, a 24/7 CareLine, and a suicide awareness and prevention program, among others, to the residents of Oklahoma. Sparks Vineyard & Winery is located 5 miles east of Sparks Oklahoma where in the 1900s a French immigrant paved the way to a land of vineyards. Today, after decades of silencing the vines, Oklahoma has rekindled its interest in wine grapes. Many new vineyards have sprung up in the Sparks area since they built their new custom-designed winery in 2000 and conducted their first crush. They now offer a large selection of fine table wines and gift items. The tasting room also boasts of a fine art gallery with on-going exhibitions and sales of original art work by renowned Oklahoma artists.
