Opening & Exhibit by Oklahoma artist, Gayle Curry, at the "In Your Eye Studio & Gallery" in the Historic Paseo Arts District. Opening reception is Friday, August 1st from 6:00pm-10:00pm. Show runs thru August 31st.
Gayle Curry takes abstract forms, conflicting shapes and intense colors and transforms them into images that are relatively real to the human eye, but not absolutely real to the conscious mind. They are like dreams where images come and go. The abstract works flow, while gently rolling the unconscious into the consciousness. She has gone beyond the limitations of realism and explores the world of abstractism to find a simple yet profound joy of connectedness with the canvas. She takes these images and goes beyond the surface layer, into the depths of inner spaciousness. These paintings bridge the gap between perception and interpretation.
