Oklahoma City, OK, May 15th, 2008 -- Opening & Exhibit by Tulsa, OK artist, Sarah Davison, at the "In Your Eye Studio & Gallery" in the Historic Paseo Arts District. Opening reception is Friday, June 6th from 6:00pm-10:00pm. Show runs thru June 28th.
The words text, texture, and textile all come from the Latin word meaning to weave. I like to use text as background texture, weaving it into the design of my fine silver jewelry. Precious Metal Clay silver has the ability to retain the deep textures imprinted in it. I use stamps and make my own texture plates of English and foreign words to decorate my jewelry pieces. Because the message itself is sometimes unreadable and I often invert the letters, the text is separated from its meaning and can be appreciated solely for its design elements.
Oak Hills Winery
In Your Eye Studio & Gallery will also host a wine tasting during the opening reception of the June Art Walk. Oak Hills Winery will be offering tasting of a varieties of wines..
Oak Hills Winery is located in Chelsea, OK just off Historic Route 66 NE of Claremore. The wines produced include Cabernet, Merlot, Seyval Blanc, Traminette, Catawba, and Concord. There are also a number of blends from these wines. .
